Dram Tree Park

Dram Tree Park is located on the west side of Wilmington, NC on the banks of the Cape Fear River. This ramp gives access to the northern stretches of the river and the waterfront portion of downtown Wilmington. The battleship North Carolina is about half a mile north on the opposite side of the river from the ramp.

Drive Through

The park is fairly small and the highlight of the park is the boat ramp. There are 35-ish trailer spots and a handful of car spots. It also has a handicapped trailer parking spot. Everything about the park is tight. It would be tough to bring a boat that is much bigger than 23 feet long and feel good about your ability to navigate through the park. Even the roads leading to the park (Because you are on the edges of downtown) are urban and narrow.

The Ramp

It is a 2-lane ramp with small docks on either side of the ramp. There are no docks to tie up to that are not in one of the active ramp lanes. Overall, the ramp is in great condition and has one of the more aggressive grooved patterns on the pavement of any ramp I’ve seen.

View South from the ramp. Very industrial feel with lots of tug boats docked across the river
View North from the ramp. The battleship is just around the corner behind the trees. Downtown Wilmington is on the right.

The ramp has a very substantial grooved pattern to provide excellent traction
