Cedar Point Boat Ramp
Nestled along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), the NC Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) boat ramp in Cedar Point, NC, is a premier destination for boating and fishing enthusiasts. Providing direct access to the ICW, this public access point opens the door to unparalleled coastal adventures, making it an essential hub for those seeking to explore North Carolina’s waterways. With its proximity to the historic town of Swansboro, the ramp offers a blend of modern convenience and timeless maritime charm. We brought our Atlas Boatworks 23F bay boat here to fish in the CCA’s Fall Veterans fishing tournament.
The Ramp
The Cedar Point boat ramp, maintained by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, is in decent shape. It features two launch lanes, 36 parking spots for trailers, and nearby amenities, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The ramp’s location along the ICW allows for seamless navigation to popular fishing spots, secluded inlets, and the vibrant coastal waters of North Carolina. Downfalls include the location directly off of busy Highway 24 which makes pulling in and out a challenge. The parking lot is tight, especially when full. Boats over about 20-23′ might have a hard time navigating through the lot. The Atlas Boatworks 23F is 32′ from hitch to prop and we were able to get through, but not without a little stress. Docking space is minimal and directly off of the ICW which is not no-wake at this point. It is easy for your boat to get some dock rash if you are not careful as the wakes come rolling in from passing boats.
