Atlas Boat Works built Downeast-style pocket cruisers for 35 years until the builder retired in 2023. Through the years, they built over 300 boats from their headquarters in Cape Coral, FL. Their models, the Pompano 21, Pompano 23, and Acadia 25 can be found all over the world. In 2018, they added another model, the 23F. The Atlas Boatworks 23F is a flatback-inspired center console bay boat.
In early 2024, we purchased the mold for the 23F and this website. By that point, the company had been divided up and the molds for the Acadia and Pompano models had already been sold to, quote, “Some guy in the Northeast.” Unfortunately, we don’t have any information about the models that aren’t the 23F as we’ve never owned, built, or sold any of them.
Due to the high initial costs of creating a new boat mold, it is common in the boat-building industry for existing molds to be purchased and rebranded. It is probably safe to assume that, at some point down the road, the Pompano and Acadia models will reemerge under a different brand name.
