Bay Pines Boat Ramp
The Bay Pines Boat Ramp is officially a part of War Veterans Memorial Park, but is known locally as Bay Pines (Google Maps also knows it as this).
The ramp is on the west side of the St Peterburg peninsula and gives access to John’s Pass and the bay sides of Madeira Beach and Treasure Island.
Drive Through
The Ramp
The ramp includes 6 lanes plus an additional dock for picking up and dropping off guests. The wide lanes are easy to navigate. The only issue I notice is the parking spaces directly in front of the ramp (When you pull out of the ramp, you can drive directly into a spot without turning). When those spots are full, especially with longer trailers, the limited room to navigate causes a bottleneck as vehicles come in and out of the ramps.
Parking, Facilities, & Fees
The Bay Pines boat ramp features one of the largest parking lots we’ve seen. With over 100 trailer spots, including a gravel overflow lot, you can usually find a spot. We visited mid-week, so I can’t speak to the weekend situation, but your chances seem better than at most ramps we’ve encountered.
As a Pinellas County park, it offers restrooms and trash cans, which is a nice convenience. The staff keep the restrooms clean and well-maintained, just like the park grounds.
According to the Pinellas County Parks website, you’ll pay $6 per day for vehicles with trailers and $2 per day for those without trailers.
